Weaving in the different realms of my practice:

Spirit, Forrest yoga, Body Psychotherapy;

this May, I introduce a workshop dedicated to MAIA & INTENTION.

The month of May brings cyclical change; a period that paves the way for possibility and the allure of a deeper feminine energy and natures vibrant abundance. Watching how life embraces a different shape, observing natures recovery and bloom; whilst we reorient and emerge from the darker seasons. Are you ready to form your own intention, lean towards the light and harness your own change?

Here we will explore the impact of intention, connecting with the power of WILL and your diaphragm, your 'deeper' breathing potential.

When we recognise our own sense of WILL we gain more resources to be with our most powerful emotions and at the same time the ability to accept others and difference. Calling in Maia's healing wisdom, she represents strength and creativity; guiding us to really be with our autonomy and wishes.

This day will be a marker for your own beginning or chapter. Working with the power of intention, here you will have the support, space and resources to name yours.

Let this experience guide you towards the fullness of spring.

The month of May is encapsulated with the Roman goddess Maia, her name given to this period of change.

Maia is known as the goddess of growth, strength, heat and fertility. Call it magic, call it wisdom, call it your practice; this is a place to explore healing, potentially forging a deeper connection back to self.

What to expect:

We commence 10am opening the day with ceremony, calling in the four directions, introducing the healing element air.

  • 2pm approx, close the space and transition home. Due to the nature of this exploration and what may come up during our time together, please allow 30 mins additional time.

For more information regarding the intention and diaphragm see below.

Due to the length of the practice this is not advised for beginners in yoga, a regular Forrest practice is recommended. Please get in touch if you are concerned or curious.

DIAPHRAGM | AIR

Exploring diaphragmatic breathing (deep abdominal breathing) - practicing with a conscious breath that contracts the diaphragm and then relaxes this muscle. When activating the diaphragm there is the potential to gain a deeper connection with your sense of WILL and POWER. WILL is your way back to your desires, inclination and choices. What will your desires or intention be?

Breathing is one of the few autonomic functions that you can control intentionally. Your breath is also your life force or vital energy called ‘Prana’, when we breathe deeper, fuller, we benefit. In practice we begin with Ujjayi breathing in order to access our parasympathetic nervous system, responsible for the body's rest and digestion response. Accessing the PNS decreases our heart rate, which leads to an overall sense of calm, space and increases digestion.

Calling on the healing element of air, this is the manifestation of movement, freshness, communication and of course life force. Invisible yes, this healing quality guides us back to feeling and sensing, noticing the air you feel on your skin and around your body and also within

Air represents the realm of openness, spaciousness and clarity. This workshop encourages an openness and adaptability, overcoming and observing rather than criticising.

I can't wait to share this offering with you. Join me for Maia and all the beauty that May holds for us.
